From websites to YouTube channels - how local authorities communicate with residents of their communities

Digital tools have long become the norm for citizens of big cities like, for example, Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro. Both as access to the private companies’ services and as a way of communication between the authorities and residents.

At the same time, the situation in smaller towns and villages receives less attention as is not sufficiently studied.

Given that decentralization reform has provoked considerable attention to the local level from the expert community and a wider public, the purpose of this study is to analyze how digital tools are used by the newly established Amalgamated territorial communities. Particularly, how many of them have websites, how do they run pages on social networks, do these resources receive a viewership, and what are the interdependencies between these environments.
